Nike’s Sports Fashion above Cultural Diversities

Nike has decided to launch a hijab for female Muslim athletes. The Nike Pro Hijab has been in development for a year, it will go on sale in 2018 and it will be available in three different colours. The new Nike Pro Hijab is made of a lightweight, stretch fabric with tiny holes to allow perspiration.

The advertising campaign has already enlisted the support of important athletes like the figure skater Zahra Lari.


In a multicultural world that seeks to globalize more and more, it is good to know that someone is creating different options to help identify ourselves in our daily lives.

Nike has always wanted to be identified as a multicultural brand, a brand whose only goal is sport, sport over any barrier.


In spite of this, we can doubt if it is an excellent marketing campaign or a call for human rights in the face of the latest racist developments generated by the new foreign policies of Donald Trump?
